Self-Introduction: I'm Alan from San Jose, California. I started these
academic competitions pretty late. (I really wish I knew about them
earlier!) 10th grade was the first time I took the AMC. This year was
my first time taking the NACLO (and last time too, because I'm a
senior). It was something I signed up for last fall just for fun, so I
was really surprised when the open results were released. I was 1000
times more surprised when I saw the second round results. Ever since
taking Spanish in 9th grade, I've been interested in studying foreign
languages, especially their grammar and sentence structures. When I
grow up, I want to speak at least 10 languages. Not going to happen
though!

Self-Introduction: Hey guys, I'm Alex. I'm a senior at the Dalton School in Manhattan, but I live in Astoria, NY (it's a section of Queens). I'm into math (went to red MOP with Damien and Dan but never even came close to going back), compsci, violin (going on 12 years, but I don't play competitively), astronomy, and quantum mechanics, and I love tennis (watching the Sony Ericsson open right now...). Inglourious basterds was one of the best movies of recent years imo, but I'm also a sucker for oldies (Casablanca, citizen kane, etc.) Of course I do math... I know Spanish and Latin, and I wanna learn Arabic.
